Automotive Service Technology, designed for students interested in working on cars. 

For students who are interested in working on cars, the Automotive Service Technology program provides a structured, hands-on and inclusive environment to explore their passion. This program is focused on teaching both the theoretical and hands-on skills necessary to provide a wide variety of service and maintenance to automobiles.

Course Description and Career Skill 

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of automotive technology and repair. Students will learn how to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery used in a modern auto shop. Topics include engine performance, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and vehicle maintenance. Hands-on training will allow students to inspect, diagnose, and repair common automotive problems. Students will also explore automotive service documentation, work orders, and customer communication. Emphasis is placed on safety, professionalism, and environmental responsibility following EPA and OSHA standards. Learners will have opportunities to prepare for industry certifications such as PA Safety Inspection and EPA 609.
